My name is Susan. I’m from Kansas City, Missouri and I’m currently a Boren Fellow in Kampala, Uganda. I am studying Acholi at Makerere University, and will be conducting research on psychiatric and psychosocial interventions used in post conflict communities. I am concurrently pursuing my PhD in International Psychology. After December, I will be leaving Kampala and heading north to Gulu, Pader and Kitgum. This blog is an unedited visual narrative of my experiences in Uganda. The name was inspired by what my dad said when he first heard me speak Acholi. He crinkled his forehead and said; that sounds like Acholi noise.
